I've been working away on a big project for awhile. (As in big paintings!) These all had to be really detailed as they'll eventually be used on interpretive signage that are each 5' wide... All Malaysian habitat stuff, nice to learn about other parts of the world.

First photo will give you a sense of the scale of the paintings. They were fun, but also pretty dang challenging.

I had a really good time teaching a little botanical illustration workshop at the @lansuchinesegarden last week, under the auspices of the @oregonbotanicalartists! The location is lovely, the students were delightful, the tea was amazing, and it was an all-around great time! Plus, people appreciated my color wheel skirt, which I used to help with color theory questions ;-)

Can't stop, won't stop painting birdies lol... This little family of #redshaftednorthernflickers will be available at next month's #sitkaartinvitational in Portland (Oct. 10-12 at the #oregoncontemporary).

This was especially fun because I decided to work bigger than I typically do – the artwork is 16" x 20". I really enjoyed the larger size, I just hope there's a market for it. It's a much bigger commitment in terms of wall space (not to mention $s). What do you think?

I love how this gorgeous brochure turned out! I did the artwork for the "Oregon Garden Plant List and Adventure Pairings" piece that #traveloregon hands out to folks who visit their demonstration garden at the annual #rhshamptoncourtpalacegardenfestival (on the southwest side of London). It's a really fun piece that markets tourist visits to Oregon with "pairings" like a hazelnut tree and "strolling vineyard paths with a local winemaker" in the Willamette Valley, or Meadowsweet with birdwatching in the wetlands west of Portland. It would definitely make me want to visit Oregon!
